Generating Leads From Contractor Websites Has NOTHING To Do With How It Looks....

You may have the best product or service available.  Your expertise may be supreme and customer service like no other.  But if your potential customers are not aware of your business or how to find it, you may as well shut the doors and go home.

If I Can't Find You, I Can't Buy From You!

If you want to get more customers from your website and get you website found, you have to focus on content.  It is just that simple.  You will not get found if you are not creating keyword optimized content. 

Content marketing is proven to be one of the most effective contemporary methods for attracting potential customers to businesses.  Not only is content marketing effective, it can also be very inexpensive and affordable for small businesses or tight budgets. 

You Are An Expert, Let The World Hear About It

Your business is part of an industry.  Your industry has information, and your business has information relating to your products or services.  Your customers have information on how they utilize your products and services.  All of this information can be transformed into content marketing.

Useless Information Is Just That, Useless

One method is to just sign up to various social media sites and blogs and plaster random product information everywhere possible.  While this may yield some results, experts recommend a more targeted and strategic approach. 

Here are some suggestions on how best to develop a content marketing strategy:

  • Understand your target audience – focus on the type of customer that you wish to attract.  Consider the demographics including location, hobbies, buying habits, and other attributes.  List these qualities and then list the types of websites that this type of audience would utilize. Think about what types of problems they are having.  What questions are they asking?

  • Uncover your product or service’s value to your target market – visualize how your target customer would use your business solutions, and map out the specific qualities that differentiate your solution from others.  Much of this should be part of your overall marketing strategy.

  • Undertake research on several websites to post your content – consider social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter, or LinkedIn as good first steps.  Also look at industry blogs, trade websites, and perhaps local community websites to post content.

  • Participate in online conversations on a regular basis -  Once a day at the least, post information, feedback, stories, or other snippets of data that could attract your target market.  This can include promotions, coupons, contest, and special event notices.

Review, Keep What Works, Throw Out What Doesn't

Once you have begun your content marketing strategy, revisit your techniques and methods on a monthly basis. Look at the metrics to determine what is working and what is not, and then be prepared to adjust quickly. 

With the right type of content marketing strategy your business can have the customers that must exist in order for your business to survive.
