One of the things I do is.....

...help small business owners like you who are frustrated that they have spent a lot of money in making improvements to their website and they are still not seeing leads come in as they expected.  Typically they have either hired a SEO consultant or put some money into Google Adwords to increase their rankings in search engines.  Now they either still fail to show up in the results or they are ranking for some keywords but not seeing any increase in leads.

Are you experiencing similar challenges?

How To Build Internet Marketing Strategies To "Googlize" Your Website

Effective Internet Marketing Strategies Require An Effective Content Strategy

Think About It; Why Do You Use The Internet?

Have you ever thought of why you go to the Internet for information?

According to Jim Kukral, an online marketing expert for the past 16 years, there are only 2 reasons why people come to the Internet:

  1. They have a problem they need to solve

  2. They want to be entertained

Most of the time we go to the Internet without even realizing what the underlying motivation is that got us there.  When I thought about it, I realized that I go to the Internet most often to solve a problem or find a product that solves my problem.

If you are a business owner, in reality you are a problem solver for your customers. It doesn't matter if you sell a product or service.

Today, your customers are online.  If your potential customers or even existing customers don't realize you can solve their problems, they will likely go your competitor who is doing a better job of creating content.

In order to create great content that will interest your future customers, you need to develop a Content Strategy

What Is A Content Strategy?

A Content Strategy (sometimes referred to as content marketing or inbound marketing) is the planning process of creating and implementing content for the purpose of solving your customers potential problems.

Developing a content strategy means you discover the current needs or problems that your customers have.  You develop content based on those needs. You use that content to drive leads to your site.

By developing content that answers questions, you become a resource for that customer.  By educating your future customers, you are building a relationship that could eventually lead to a sale.

5 Steps For Building Successful Internet Marketing Strategies5-steps-to-get-to-the-top-of-google-search

Step 1-Create Content

Creating content is a process that requires a dedicated commitment.  Every small business is capable of creating their own content.

Just tracking the questions that customers ask and answering those questions with a blog post each week is a very effective way to create content.

The answers that you create (now content...)can then be turned into the following:

  • Web Pages That Turn Into Indexed Google Pages

  • Blog Posts That Get Indexed By Google

  • Landing Pages That Provide Direction To Your Site Visitors

  • Calls To Action That Show Your Visitors Where To Go Next

Step 2-Optimize Your Content

Content is no good if you aren't using the right words.  I always struggled with this concept.  I never really knew what to write.  Even when I did write (I do like to write by the way..) I wasn't sure if what I was writing was any good.

What words do I use, how do I use them always trailed through my mind while creating content.  It is important to understand the structure that makes sense to Google and the other search engines.

When creating web pages, blogs, and landing pages, pay attention to the following:

  • You Must Know Your Keywords

  • Proper Placement of Keywords On Page

  • Link Building is Critical To Building Your Site Authority

Step 3-Promote Your Content

Now that you have developed the content, you are using the right words and it is good stuff, you need to tell the world about it.  You need to promote your content without being pushy and trying to force someone to read it.

The idea here is to place the content in front of the type of people who may be looking for it.  Afterall you can't catch a fish if you don't cast your line out there to see what will bite.

Here are 2 ways you can promote your content:

  1. Use Social Media; Facebook, Twitter, Google+, LinkedIN and YOUtube.

  2. Use Opt-In Email To Create A Mailing List

Step 4-Lead Generation and Content Conversion

You have to have traffic to your website in order to create leads.  If you have no traffic coming to your site, then your chances of converting online are nearly impossible.

Following the steps in this strategy will help you build traffic to your site.  Once you are bringing traffic to your site you need to interest them in something more like a FREE e-book (for example, you can download my e-book here), a FREE consultation (yep, here is another one of my examples) or whatever is appropriate in your industry. You trade the offer for an email address, or opt-in email that we discussed above.

Use your content to create leads.  Nurture those leads with new content.  By staying in front of the potential customer, you will be the one to come to mind when they are ready to buy.

In order for you to convert, you need the following:

  • Steady, Growing Web Traffic

  • Lead Generation Converts Visitors To Followers

  • Lead Nurturing Stays In Front Of Potential Customers

  • Lead Management Is Required To Keep Track Of Leads After 25

Step 5-Analyzing Content

How do you know if the content you created is effective?  This step is an absolute requirement; You must analyze what is working and what is not working.

You could be creating something that no one is interested in if you don't analyze what works.

Here are some analytics to use in order to see what works with your content strategy.

  • Use Blog Analytics To Find Who Is Reading What

  • Is Your Social Media Reach Growing Steadily?

  • Watch Your Competitors
