What is Problem Solving?

Problem solving is one of the most critical skills a business owner or manager can possess.  Business is full of problems. 

You may not think about all of the issues that come up in a day as a problem, but if you sit back and think about it, you will realize that you are more of a problem solver than you are a business owner. 

We believe that if you understand all of the problems in your business, you will be much more successful. As a business owner you don't have to solve all of them, but you may be able to improve efficiency by understanding the problem and how it was resolved. 

If the problem can't be resolved, then the problem should rise to the top.  These are typically those problems that the owner has to deal with or make a final decision one way or the other.

You likely already have a method of solving problems.  But you may have one of those tough ones, a problem you just cannot resolve. 

Here are some steps you can utilize to methodically step your way to get to a successful resolution. 

You have to make a decision in the end and the 11th step is one of the most important; Be Willing to Accept Full Responsibility for your decision.

Solving tricky problems will require a great deal of thinking on your part.  Understanding the type of thinking required to create a strategy is often out of bounds for an owner.
